English Classes for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL)

Free classes in English for speakers of other languages are offered at 20 branches of The New York Public Library in association with the Riverside Language Program, Inc.

Classes are held three times a year (Fall, Winter, and Spring) and are for beginner and intermediate levels only.

  • Registration is in person at the branch where the class is held.
  • Registration is drawn by lot.
  • Space is limited.
  • Classes are open to adults (age 16 or over).
  • Testing follows registration.
  • Documentation is not required.

English Conversation Class: Intermediate Level

Talk with library volunteers about current events, New York City, family life, holidays, and much more. For adults 16 years old or older.
